The last movie I saw, wasa independent film “The slumdog millionaire” a film by Danny Boyle, the same director of "Trainspotting" and "The Beach".
This movie beggins when a young 18 years old orphan boy called Jamal is arrested under suspicion of cheating in the final question to win a 20 million rupees in the Indian version of “who wants to be a millionaire. While he is interrogated, events from his life history are shown which explain why he, a kid from the street, knows the answers. In middle of his memories appears the complex life in the slums, the relationship with his brother and the love of his life Latika.
Several things I like of this movie. In first place the memories of Jamal are present as chapters where the spectator gradually will find out how he has learned answers to the show. In second place the film shows how the spirit of teenager was triumph over the adversity in a story of hope, kindness and perseverance. In third place I like that a occidental director shows a Indian story, with Indian actors, in a refreshing way.
I was to cinema to see this movie with my younger sister and my Mom. The movie theater was in downtown of Santiago. A friend of mine recommended this film, fortunately three of us enjoy the film and I go out from the theater with a good cinema taste. I like so much and I recommended to everyone that enjoy a good story and a good cinema.
